Attention Diverted in The Middle east/ Do Nothing Congress continues to burn poor!

With our attention focused on Bush's failing middle east and policies we are diverted once again from the destruction of our America and lower class. I received quite an interesting proposal from Congress. It will never pass though even though in reality I believe its inception would force the economy to adjust and adapt, and in the end this proposal would work but special interests would scoff at it! More to follow!
we can agree we have a do nothing Congress!
Lou Dobbs: This Republican-led, do-nothing Congress is on its way home for a five-week vacation. I'm sure while there, they'll be glad to explain to their constituents why they need so much rest in a year in which they will work fewer than 80 days.
The Republicans in Congress have little to brag about when they return home. And the Democrats have a lot of explaining to do, as well. Once the party of the New Deal, Fair Deal and Great Society, the party of working men and women, the Democrats are now buried as deeply in the pockets of their corporate masters as are the Republicans.
The Democratic Party has played a major role in helping to pass legislation that is grossly injurious to middle-class Americans and their families.Read on, you know it gets worse! http://www.dailykos.com/...
They need a 5 week vacation from the exhaustion of doing nothing and trying to look busy. The Democrats want to wrest control of Congress from Republicans, and they have a better than average opportunity to accomplish the feat. The next five weeks just might be a good time for frustrated, disgusted constituents to ask what it will take to elect a Congress willing to represent working men and women and their families. http://www.cnn.com/...
We now know that Congress deep sixed the proposal to increase the minimum wage primarily because Republicans torpedoed it by attaching millions of dollars of tax cuts for the rich too it. The blame game begins!
Hours after Senate Democrats and a few Republicans killed a bill that would have raised the minimum wage, cut the "death tax" and extended a host of other tax breaks, the political blame game was in full swing, with both parties trying to protect themselves and score points as they headed home for a month long campaign session.

Now, you know this will not go but I put my vote in for a YAY! thinking about it if selfish interest were set aside and Congress cared about :we the people" and equality in America, this would work.
Congress.org Weekly Update August 2, 2006

With Congress in recess, we will focus on your ideas on what Congress should be doing or laws they should consider. The first idea is from Lewisburg, KY.

"Automatically Raise the Minimum Wage Two Dollars an Hour Every Time We Elect a President."

We need to have a federal law where the minimum wage is increased by two dollars per hour every 4-years every time we elect a president until we reach a minimum wage of twelve dollars per hour that will keep all workers above the poverty wages and income scales in the USA."

Do you agree? Write to President Bush and Congress your views on this topic.
And the Senate is voting on a bill that ties increasing the minimum wage with a permanent decrease in the estate tax. Should the Senate support tying the two together?

*Support - Automatically Raising the Minimum Wage Two Dollars an Hour Every Four Years

*Oppose - Automatically Raising the Minimum Wage Two Dollars an Hour Every Four Years

This makes sense to me! What do you think about this, the middle east diversion, and the do nothing Congress?
