Bush Reserves Right to ignore Laws, Challenges 1,100 Bill sections, More than all other Presidents combined!

Bush reserves right to ignore laws, challenges 1,100 Bill sections, more than all Presidents Combined. Then there's Cheney who can ignore Bush's laws! It's an uncontrollable circle jerk!
I set out to write about Cheney's ongoing argument that he is above Bush's rules but of course it got deeper. First with Congress, Cheney, and Bush all ignoring each other I have to reiterate, what friggen good are they? Opinions on all of them are at record lows and they could all care less as they all continue to do nothing, do what they want, and none of them give a damn.
Bush may be President but Cheney is the real Decider. Cheney and Rove's got him elected to be cheerleader to push their agenda through. During the interim Bush has learned to be the master of Rove's taught 3 D Politics (deceitful, deceptive, divisive, Politics) to get what he wants.
During their tenure Bush has set a fine example. I should be used to the crap by now but this really stunned me. In a report to Congress, the non partisan Government Accountability Office studied a small sample of the bill provisions that Bush has signed into law but also challenged with signing statements.
The GAO found that agencies disobeyed six such laws, while enforcing 10 others as written even though Bush had challenged them.
It is a common feeling for us that what damn good is a law or anything if Bush can just rewrite it or ignore it? A signing statement is a legal document filed in the Federal Register the day a president signs a bill into law. It instructs the executive branch about how to implement the new statutes the bill creates, and sometimes it states that certain provisions are unconstitutional and need not be enforced as written.
Bush's signing statements have drawn fire because he has used them to challenge more than 1,100 sections of bills -- more than all previous presidents combined. The sample the GAO studied represents a small portion of the laws Bush has targeted, but its report concluded that sometimes the government has gone on to disobey those laws. I mean, what the frig? http://www.boston.com/...
While Bush is challenging more than all our Presidents combined and rewriting whatever he deems necessary the real Decider who is doing much of the dirty work reserves the right to be above anything Bush sets into law so he can cover for him.
The White House struggled to explain yesterday why President Bush complies with rules and oversight on secret documents but Vice President Cheney doesn't. However, I already have! There were also no answers about why Cheney followed the rules in 2001 and 2002 but began stonewalling on documents in 2003 as the CIA leak case was breaking and weapons of mass destruction were not to be found in Iraq. It is simple. His misdeeds and cover ups for Bush are now obviously against the law The White House simply shrugs it off and says they will check on it. Yeah right!
There are rumors that Cheney tried to abolish the government office charged with safeguarding documents, which was hounding him for access but of course it is denied.
Cheney has often cited executive privilege stemming from his office in the Bush administration to reject requests from Congress. But the vice president's office has also claimed that because Cheney is president of the Senate in the legislative branch, he is exempt from a request by an agency in the executive branch. http://www.nydailynews.com/...
This is absolute BS and is by design a circle jerk rendering Congress and us powerless to stop them from doing what they want. Of course to cap it off Gonzales was asked to order Cheney to comply but the Justice Department has yet to rule. We are powerless to stop these corrupt new order idiots and we have to change that quickly.

Hey Patriot I found your blog from Lydia Cornell and it is very interesting. If I understand what you have written, then President Bush is violating the laws he makes for the rest of us. How can he get away with that

Hi Holly!
It is sickening and detrimental to us and our America what Bush and Cheney both get way with routinely.
Laws are for the citizens. In their own words they can do whatever they feel necessary supposedly for the good of America but they are talking about their new idea of America. Not ours and the one we hoped to pass on. They will get much worse as they near the end of their Dictatorship.
I don't know if you read the whole thing but Cheney is the real Decider not Bush. He is not that smart. He was elected as the cheerleader to push Cheney and Rove's agenda through. Remember when he was chosen to pick a VP he chose himself. What a coincidence huh?

I have always believed that Cheney was the one running the government, especially foreign policy, and Rove was the mess behind domestic events.

Bush is the puppet that Corporate America loves.

Hi Larry
Yes, everyone has to know by now that Bush was elected by Cheney and Roves and their interests so the mindless failure of an adiot couls cheerlead their agenda through as he is doing.
Remember when asked to search for a VP Cheney immediately picked himself. These scum are extremely detrimental to the future of our America and world order as we knew it.
They are almost done in both instances tearing down existing order to replace with their idea as we all bear witness to every day.
I wrote about the Russian Doctrine of Destruction Bush is following years ago and no one has listened. I am afraid it is too late now but here it is. http://www.anaveragepatriot.com/downloads/Manuscript2.pdf
I am particularly bothered by all this because I have Grandchildren and a couple of sons in Bush's wars. One is just back from Afghanistan as EOD and soon to volunteer for Iraq again. Another is in Iraq again flying air support and due home 9/5. You have to wonder what is next for all of them and if they survive his wars present and future they will be choked by his $ trillions in debt he nicely put off on them until he gets out so he could look good but that is impossible.

I wasn't aware you had family in the wars which makes this all too close to the heart.

I agree whole heartedly with your comments and your post was right on track in my mind.

Larry!
Yes I do but it is not the danger I am concerned about. I trained them well and raised men. It is the absolute fact that their Patriotism and sense of duty in being abused and misused routinely and it will soon get worse.
The son leading expolisive ordinance teams as he did in Afghanistan, will be doing again to protect the Dem Presidential nominee, and will then unbelievably to me volunteer to lead troops in Iraq again, is brain washed and thinks we are the enemy and Bush is the military's friend. He doesn't get it that Bush is needlessly destroying our military and killing our troops.
He knows how I feel. I have to be cognizant of his mental stability when I give him the facts but he really doesn't care and just says I know Dad as he ignores me.
The one flying in Iraq agrees with me but has a job to do and has to shut up. What blows my mind is amidst all this they have an 18 year old brother preparing to go in the marines to go to Iraq.
Thanks for agreeing with me now let's get about the business of making a real difference.

Patriot:

Check out the new post that Lydia just put up. She receives a lot of letters from soldiers in Iraq, and this one is on his third tour.

Very eye opening. Hopefully your son will opens his as well.

I will do that! As you probably guessed I write about that frequently too. Always interested in hearing another angle or story. My sons tell me to keep them out because they don't want to get in trouble but I don't always listen.
I was on your site this morning looking for your story on the Texas superhighway or the NAU but I couldn't find it. I will see what Lydia has to say. I see some interesting angles there.
First I have to post the story I wrote for today an a few places. See ya there soon.
