Obama signed the health care Bill now we can fix average America's economy!

Obama Signs Health Care Reform Into Law

That was step one albeit a giant baby step. While we must monitor every aspect of this minutely we have to hope that the 13 attorneys General that are fighting this as unconstitutional fail. Then and now we can start rebuilding the average Americans economy.

Obama signs health care reform into law, aims to promote it on road

You know I and I am sure others have been saying from the beginning of Bush's economic disaster that under GW Bush America was turned into a country with two obvious economies. Bush started the bailout's and President Obama continued the program. Wall street was bailed out along with the rest of the system that sustained our system of Capitalism. The stock market recovered.

It was widely reported that total collapse and disaster was averted. The economy of the affluent was rescued "supposedly" I and others kept asserting that the average Americans economy now had to be rescued. With millions of lost Jobs, millions of lost homes, millions of homeless, and millions with no insurance, we knew a jobless recovery was a fallacy unless.

I am not the only one that cringed when I kept hearing of this thing called a jobless recovery. What is a jobless recovery? That is no recovery at all. We kept saying the first step to a recovery especially jobless would have to begin with the passage of a health care Bill. We kept hearing this one was no good but it is, that is why Republicans were against it.

32 million picked up immediately, no more shutting you off if you get sick, no more caps on coverage, your kids will be covered till age 26, I think this is a heck of a start. Now we have to be vigilant that everything is going according to plan and the abuse by insurance companies and all interests gaming the system are stopped.

Now we can begin to rebuild our economy, the average Americans economy and against the wishes of Republicans restore our America and narrow the gap between the haves and the have not's the last President purposely widened and turned into a chasm.

Let's see if the Teabaggers want to come out and protest finance regulation.

I bet some will.

I have trouble with the mandatory purchase part of the bill, along with the absence of price controls.

I'm also troubled by how well the government regulates industries now. The gov is actually helping the banks engage in fraud, Ponzi schemes and front running trades.

Unless Washington is hit with a nuke while congress is in session, we'll have the same kind of regulators managing the insurance firms as we do, regulating Goldman Sachs. Which likely means that they gov will mandate that you be denied coverage when you need it.

Out of group insurance rates are running at about $1,000 / month. The gov will refund a portion of that as a tax break, but you have to spend for an entire year, for each person in your family, to get the tax break.

If you can't afford that, say because that would be all of your after tax income, then the IRS will assess you a fine. It's possible that you'll also be required to make up those loss payments. If you don't pay the IRS, then you're guilty of tax evasion.

Of course if you don't have an extra $1,000 a month to give the insurance companies, you won't be insured. This bill doesn't really guarantee coverage.

Another issue, with enforcement to back up this bill, what's to stop every insurer that works in your area (often it's just one), from turning you down, or asking so much that there is no way you can buy it?

I'm troubled, not so much by the benefits or the idea of insurance health care reform, but by the fact that this looks more like it's going to be a Health Care Tax that fixes nothing.

Dave I could have sworn that they were. I heard Palin say today in Arizona that they were all tea baggers, That ass McCain was grinning ear to ear.

Wease I am sure Republicans and the insurance companies will do everything they can to gum this up so they can say see we told you. I am still very concerned as to what is coming!

Jim, I guess it's obvious that I have no trust left in our government.

If they ever actually do the right thing, it's probably going to take me a while to accept it.

The worst part of my cynicism is that I'm rarely cynical enough to keep up with the gov's disappointments.

Have you seen this story yet Jim?

Wease I agree with you 100% If the right thing is ever done it is a mistake. I have seen plenty of mistakes but never the right thing done.

Thanks for the link Wease! I heard that before but never read on it so thanks. I'm not shitting, we have some serious crap coming and amidst this crap, domestic violence, work place violence, the economy, the environment, and the rest of the world, we have that idiot Palin calling for a revolution along with her friend Beck. What a frigging future!

I smell an accounting nightmare coming. But for those with a pre-existing condition who can't get insurance now it will be a blessing. Then you need to remember Social Security wasn't very good when it was started.

As for McCain you think he read Vince Lombardi's playbook backwards? You know if a play fails once keep doing it until you win.
(note: Lombardi said you run a successful play over and over until it fails)
Way to go John tie in with Palin and the teabaggers that'll get ya a lot of votes.

Demeur - Love the Lombardi playbook comment.

The blowback from the mandated purchase of insurance will be outrage. More people might wake up and demand a better plan. Maybe this outrage could be channeled towards a real push to advance Medicare for all. Just sayin'...Unintended consequences could run either way.

Demeur I see a record mess and Repugs will make sure of it. I was miffed watching McCain while the ditz was saying we are all tea partiers on with the peaceful revolution. He was like a giddy little kid.

You know Dave, this system is a copy of the mess Romney created for us and he was proud of it. Now he is lambasting Obama's. I don't need it but the corruptible mess remains to be watched.
