Fill her up with gulf spill oil?

Chemical dispersant used in the gulf are deadly, do we want to eat and breath it?

substances that bioconcentrate tend to move from water into fish, where they can do damage to the fish itself, as well as be passed on to predator fish - and on up the food chain, to human eaters

Fill her up with spill oil? When British Petroleum sells the crude from the leaking well in the Gulf of Mexico, the oil could end up at gas stations.

Since the collected oil contains a high concentration of methanol, BP expects that each barrel will sell at a lower price than regular crude. Supposedly Oil taken from the well will be indistinguishable from other oil on the market, Louisiana State University professor Julius Langlinais told the AP. They don't say that is until you analyze it and find out breathing the fumes will kill you!

I understand people who are working on the clean up or still hitting the beach are burning their feet on this oil because of the poisonous caustic tarry goo created by mixing the the deadly dispersant with the oil. We know we are killing coral and all sea life not to speak of plankton the very basic building block all sea life then sea birds then human life depends on.

Do you think it wise to put this caustic mess in our gas tanks? You can not convince me it would be the same as regular gas even if they said they tested it. Think what we'd be breathing and adding to the air.

I understand BP will be setting some aside to help with the environment recovery but the hell with that. If we are forced to breath that, 100% of the tainted profits should go to environmental causes to minimize the growing ecological disaster and the profits should go through the Government not BP.

I don't want to down play anything here Jim but if you've ever been to or seen a monster truck show then you've watched trucks run on pure methanol. That's one of the sports rules.
As for the toxic effects it's not much more than the curde oil that it's mixed with which isn't much better.

My objection is that by using this dispersant they're actually making it harder to clean up the spill. If they stopped using it it would seperate from water easier making clean up faster.

Sorry I'm not awake yet. The methanol they're using is to prevent ice from forming in the cap. That is something that can be refined out later. It's the dispersant that I'm more concerned with. It makes the toxic effects of the oil almost invisible. Out of sight out of mind is not a good thing here because it will smother the soil in the wetlands effectively killing them and we won't even know it's there without testing. That's the bigger picture in all this.

Demeu it is not the methanol level it is those chemicals I am sure will not be removed or tested for.

Demeur I have to laugh, I see we have the same concerns. I just absolutely do not trust BP to do the right thing one iota!

Come on Guys,,have you no faith in big Oil, Have you know National pride..BP is what makes this country great. Why if it wasn't for BP all them thar folks in Bayou country would have nothing to do. We should give Dick Cheney and the rest a Medal.Capitalism where would we be without it....
Sorry about that, I was just visiting some right wing sites. ahhggg shaking it off. Ahh I feel better now. In regards to what I've just said.....never mind..

Tim I was peeved when the Brits got Coleman to ask Obama to get off BP but assumed because so many were stockholders and got royalties.

Today I found out 40% are Americans. I heard some started a get off BP club on face book now I know why. Unbiased people of the world are pissed!
