Japan's emperor in rare speech: Don't give up hope, Radiation already in Russia, could reach the US in 4 days

Japan's emperor in rare speech: Don't give up hope

Russia reported a slight increase in levels of radiation in Vladivostock, some 800 kilometres from Fukushima. Japan authorities say radioactivity around the quake-damaged nuclear plant is “significantly higher.”

Official: Japan's nuclear situation nearing severity of Chernobyl Nuclear crisis in Japan: This will dwarf Chernobyyl, FACT!

Fears that America could be hit by the nuclear fallout from the Japan earthquake dramatically increased today after the reactor hit by the tsunami went into 'meltdown'. Officials revealed fuel rods are melting inside three damaged reactors at the Fukushima plant, triggering fears of a serious radiation leak.

Scientists in the U.S. warned today of a 'worst-case scenario' in which the highly radioactive material could be blasted into the atmosphere and blown towards the West Coast of America. They said it could be picked up by powerful 30,000ft winds, carrying the debris across the Pacific and hitting America within four days. USS Ronald Reagan hit by month's radiation in just one hour, moves away from Japan

Japan City Isn't Taking Chances on Radiation

The transportation ministry implemented a no-fly zone over the air in an 18-mile radius around the Fukushima Daiichi plant. "The planes that fly through that air could well be bathed by that too," said Takashi Kawase, special assistant to the director...

Japan battles to contain nuclear crisis and relieve quake survivors They seem to be fighting a losing battle against their nuclear disaster.

I don't care what they say. This is going to be worse than Chernobyl. Japan is an island and about the size of California. Location, location, location. I am going to check out the latest now. In every regard things are moving so fast. Hope for the best plan for the worst. That is what I absolutely expected Japan had done. They of all people should know better than to take chances with a nuclear reactor let alone many. I understand we were warning them from the early 70's that their safety systems were inadequate

Funny how I've spent the last 20 years always planning for a "worst case scenario" in my work. The best these guys could plan for was a 6.8 earthquake and had no clue that the tidal wave would be higher than the walls they built to protect the generators. Also no backup systems to their back up systems.
In short one must always assume that anything can go wrong and it usually does. Murphy's Law.

Should the radiation head our way and be Alpha then I'm well prepared with moon suits and respirators. Anything greater and it's evacuation time.

Demeur I am stupefied! Japan above all you would think would not half step with nuclear security. They have been ignoring warnings since the mid 70's

It is clearly ALREADY worse than Chernobyl. So far, the location of the reactors has spared a lot of people. But let the winds blow a different way, and then we'll see.

I know JR! As usual we are stunned at the gross undervaluation of a situation. When the Tsunami first happened they said there was 6 reactors in danger then once someone got chewed out they said only one.

In panic as we do too the truth is always spoken first. Anyway noe 4 have blown and the other 2 are in danger.

Chernobyl was one reactor in meltdown, right now we have 1 and maybe 4. This is a frigging island too.

They are glad the winds are blowing out to sea and not over Japan but not me. We are doing enough to the ocean. We are killing it faster than ever.

They don't call it fallout for nothing. What goes up must come down.I am working on something but I have appointments today. Anyway with nuclear and oil in danger are you ready for $200 oil?
