Canada pulls out of Kyoto protocol, denounces Kyoto: Tell me why sung by Declan Galbreath & Severn Suzuki's 1992 Speech at the Earth Summit / Amazing

Canada pulls out of, denounces Kyoto: The protocol, initially adopted in Kyoto, Japan, in 1997, is aimed at fighting global warming. Canada's previous Liberal government signed the accord but did little to implement it and Prime Minister Stephen Harper's Conservative government never embraced it.

"The Kyoto Protocol does not cover the world's largest two emitters, United States and China, and therefore cannot work," Kent said. "It's now clear that Kyoto is not the path forward to a global solution to climate change. If anything it's an impediment."

A deal to rescue the climate is absolutely necessary and critical but totally worthless without the worlds 3 biggest offenders China, India, and the United States on board and leading the way to save man and the planet not destroy it for their gain.I am sorry to say it but I respect Canada and not just for this action. Hopefully this will be the wake up call we need.

Remember the Little girl who silenced the UN Environmental Conference? Stunning!

I was quite impressed and watched it numerous times over the years myself. I wish to God this little girl and the reality of our situation mattered but it does not. We must continue to try and make a difference though! Severn Suzuki's 1992 Speech at the Earth Summit / Amazing but ignored. How can we with any conscience just continue this?

Severn is 30 now, Severn Cullis-Suzuki is one of the world's most remarkable youth activists. Born and raised in Vancouver, Severn has been working on in environmental and social justice issues since kindergarten. At age 9, she and some friends started the Environmental Children's Organization (ECO), a small group of children committed to learning and teaching other kids about environmental issues. They traveled to 1992's Rio Earth Summit, where 12 year-old Severn gave a powerful speech that deeply affected the leaders who heard it. Watch the video. she was mesmerizing and 18 years later look where we are, look what we have done!

We have learned nothing and we are in serious danger because we have put the corporations in control of our Government and our environment. I am afraid it is too late but If we have not already screwed ourselves we better replace this corporatocracy with Democracy! We are screwed primarily because of Bush and Cheney's deregulation. The entire world should be concerned about this because it is going to screw the world. Frigging American corporatocracy! Capitalism run amok!

Would a Democracy allow their fellow citizens to go without the basic needs of any human being let alone right here in the USA, Food Shelter and clothing? Homes are still being foreclosed at a rate of 1 every 7.5 seconds. This is a Democracy in action? Is the health insurance Industry spending 1.5 million dollars a day to control Congress and kill health care reform so they can keep control over you Democracy in action? Would a democracy destroy the environment, the very world we need for survival?

No! It is capitalism run amok, Capitalism is controlling our Democracy, controlling our destiny. This is not a Democracy. Democracy is a system of government in which either the actual governing is carried out by the people governed or the power to do so is granted by them. There are two principles that any definition of democracy includes, equality and freedom. Would not equality dictate that the top 1% take care of those who are in trouble? Or is it because Capitalism rules Democracy that they have the "freedom" to ignore Equality and Democracy?

We are in serious trouble people and from what I can see it will only get worse. We have got to get out there, we have got to be heard, we have got to make a difference.
