Russia sends Syria advanced missile systems as Assad defiantly says "I am here to stay"

Will Israel destroy Russian missiles? Iran is looking to beef up Hezbollah's arsenal with as many accurate and devastating advanced long-term rockets as possible - rockets such as the Fateh-110, which are capable of reaching the Tel Aviv metropolitan area and even further south

. A significant amount of such rockets would allow Hezbollah to fire a relatively large number of them simultaneously. Assad does not possess any spare rockets or missiles to give Hezbollah so it may threaten Israel's cities. The Assad regime needs its missiles in the fight against Syrian citizens who are assisting the rebels. However, Hezbollah would very much like to get its hands on Assad's Yakhont anti-ship cruise missiles, 

Iran and Syria have common goals in getting as many advanced missiles into Hezbollah's hands as possible knowing they will be used against U.S. and Israeli interests. With Russia openly admtting that they are sending Syria advanced muissiles, missiles systems, and ship destroyers, they have made those shipments fair game in the war escalation game.

After all Russia had frozen these shipments in 2010 so their goal to see Israel and US hegremony ended no matter what it takes obvious.

*  Russia 'sends modern arms to Syria': 'Ship-killers' Russia is one of Syria's few remaining allies and its major arms suppliers. Over the years, in contracts worth billions of dollars, it has sold thousands of tanks, artillery units, aircraft, helicopters and defence systems to Damascus.
  According to the New York Times report, a recent Russian shipment to Syria included an advanced form of the Yakhont, a 6.7m-long (22ft) missile with a range of 290km (180 miles) and carrying either a high-explosive or armour-piercing warhead. Another US newspaper, the Wall Street Journal, reports that Moscow has deployed at least a dozen warships to patrol waters near the Russian naval base in the Syrian city of Tartus. 

*Bashar al-Assad issues defiant message: 'I'm here to stay': On both sides of the war, faith in the international community to bring about a solution has been evaporating rapidly. And in the opposition-held north of the country, there was growing frustration on Saturday at what is perceived as a disconnect between faltering global diplomacy and searing on-the-ground reality. 

"This is a fight to the death for the Sunnis," said Abu Hamza, a commander of a Free Syrian Army-linked brigade in Idlib province. "The regime has fired at least 200 ballistic missiles into the north against civilian areas. And the world wonders why we attack their villages? They are trying to eradicate us. We must get to them first." Sectarianism, for so long a subcurrent in the Syrian conflict, is now a driving force for substantial elements on both the regime and opposition sides.

Russia's bullshit excuse that they are not arming Syria to fight the rebels, all they are doing is honoring a 2007 agreement to keep Syria resupplied. If all things were equal and they are not I would say it is wrong to interfere in any manner on either side. We are feeding this middle east wide proxy war and have been for years. The ensuing nightmare is on all our heads for feeding this for selfish gain.Moscow: Settlement of Crisis in Syria Hindered by all of us that are Supporting Conflict

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov dismissed as baseless the accusations against Russia and China as derailing the settlement of the crisis in Syria. In a statement released on Wednesday, Morgulov said that "Our partners in the region and in the west realize that these accusations are baseless."

He added that the settlement is hindered by the forces that are supporting the 'armed conflict' in the country and unconditionally supporting a sole side with money and weapons, highlighting that "This approach encourages the stances of the extremists and provides room for the activities of the international terrorists and extremists." This is all too familiar, say one thing and do another. Blame the other side while you are doing what you are accusing them of doing. The US is also doing it and it took George Bush's antics to make me realize this and it has since become the new standard.

That would be laughable if Russia wasn't personally responsible for tens of thousands of civilian deaths. They have delivered hundreds of thousands of tons of arms and munitions to Assad and have declared they will not stop.

Top U.S. diplomat Kerry asks Iraq to stop arms to Syria: A U.S. official said earlier on condition of anonymity that Washington believes flights and overland transfers from Iran to Syria via Iraq take place nearly every day, helping President Bashar al-Assad crush a two-year-old revolt against his rule.

Speaking before the meeting, the U.S. official said Iraq had inspected only two flights since last July and that Kerry would argue Iraq did not deserve a role in talks about neighboring Syria's future unless it tried to stop the suspected arms flow.

meanwhile it is okay for the US and western allies.

* CIA aids huge arms smuggling to Syria: The CIA reportedly has a hand in clandestine supply of arms to Syrian rebels by Gulf States. At least 3,500 tons of have been delivered - some ending up on the black market, with the Turkish government an active player, a media report says. The flow of arms continues with the help of US agents as Washington criticizes Iran and Russia for delivering weapons to the Syrian regime, the New York Times says.

Secretary of State John Kerry pressed Iraq on Sunday to close its airspace to Iranian flights just as the latest arms delivery from Qatar for Syrian rebels was landing in Turkey, according to the daily’s report. Iran blasts Arab League for handing platform to Syrian opposition: Iran has blasted the Arab League for allowing the Syrian opposition to fill the country's vacant seat at the Arab Summit in Doha, according to Iranian media reports.

*U.S. Training Syrian Rebels In Jordan, Der Spiegel Reports: Spiegel said it was not clear whether the Americans worked for private firms or were from the army but said some wore uniforms. The training focused on use of anti-tank weaponry. Some 200 men have already received such training over the past three months and there are plans in the future to provide training for a total 1,200 members of the "Free Syrian Army" in two camps in the south and the east of the country.

Britain's Guardian newspaper also reported that U.S. trainers were assisting Syrian rebels in Jordan. British and French instructors were also participating in the U.S.-led effort, the Guardian said on Saturday, citing Jordanian security sources. Jordanian intelligence services are involved in the programme, which aims to build around a dozen units totaling some 10,000 fighters to the exclusion of radical Islamists, Spiegel reported.

From the beginning of the chaos in Syria we have been saying that Iran more specifically the IRG (Iran Revolutionary Guard) was in Syria helping if not leading the way in trying to quell the uprising along with Hezbollah.

You know Assad's only other regional friends Iran, Hezbollah and all Islamist Shiite,are  dictating that this slaughter is a necessity though Syria knows how to brutalize its people all to well. Iran will not allow a Democracy at her doorstep further isolating her.

'Iran building militias in Syria in case Assad falls': The Post quoted a senior Obama administration official as saying that Iran was backing as many as 50,000 militiamen. “The immediate intention seems to be to support the Syrian regime. But it’s important for Iran to have a force in Syria that is reliable and can be counted on,” the official stated.

Now that we know how involved Russia, Iran and Hezbollah are in the slaughtering that is going on around the country that is beginning to look like the beginning of their fight not nearing the end.You have to be very concerned about what is happening in Syria especially.

Russia, China, and Iran are not going to allow Syria to fall to Democracy. What we saw after the voter fraud in Iran was mild compared to what the IRG will do if this movement spreads to Iran. I really wish Bashar would step down but Iran is the elephant in the room any way you look at it. The total middle east breakdown we have written about numerous times is well under way. We can only hope we keep it from erupting into WW3.

By attacking and defeating Iraq we freed Iran up to pursue her version of new middle East order by interfering wherever she could while Bush was doing the same thing with his Middle East Democratization program. I think you can see how successful Bush and Cheney were with chaos creating Middle East Democracy program but you are barely seeing the results they created in Iran.

The goal absolutely is to be the country who decides which direction the new Middle East (dis)order will take. Bush started it by attacking Iraq to get into the middle east to destabilize it and start the new middle east order the idiot said God told him to do now it will be up to Iran and Saudi Arabia at least up front fight it out whether this goes the Iranian Shiite way or the Saudi Arabian Sunni way and do not forget Israel!
 

*The total middle east breakdown Sunni against Shiite is well under way. Iraq can't afford to help Iran as Iraq is busy blowing itself. I have changed my thought on this and think this developing middle east sectarian war could be a good thing if the United States, Russia, and China can remain on the side lines but it doesn't look like it, so?.
