Dennis Rodman could unite North Korea with the rest of Asia to stop China's takeover

Following North Korea for the last 10 years has been a dark circus, firing missiles or doing something  to unnerve the west every time they needed more food. While we were watching Kim Jong Il die many of us speculated as to who he would pick as his successor.

We knew it would not be Kim Jong un's openly western brother and that it would indeed be Kim Jong un as he loved much of the finer things the west had to offer but he was more ruthless than his father and if you can believe it, even more unpredictable.

Up to now he has been walking his Fathers line threatening South Korea and the West with world war, starving his people and hanging and imprisoning them if they even looked at him wrong. He broke North Korean protocol when he befriended U.S. bad boy Dennis Rodman.

Dennis Rodman has been tight lipped as to what inner details have been discussed between the two but does say that Kim Jong Un wants to be friends with the United States and that the U.S. should approach Kim Jong Un which will never happen.

As you know, China after years of building its navy is getting more belligerent every day. 10 years ago when I started following North Korea and China people kept telling me not to worry about it. China will never let this lead to war but they are.

They actually tried to block one of our warships in international waters. As is standard practice we were trailing one of her ships which happened to be their new carrier. One of their ships went right in front of ours and stopped, forcing the U.S. ship to make drastic manuevers to avoid it. China is now telling the world we did it.

China wants all the China seas and all the natural riches on the islands and beneath the seas. China has laid claim and set boundaries on vast tracks of seas that belong to many countries. They are making a land and ocean grab. They demand we leave and mind our business so they can ride roughshod over Asia. They want a return to their great dynasties.

That amounts to lording over and hemming in North Korea who wants her place too and to be left alone. That or the much maligned and discussed reunification of Korea. Kim Jong Un just executed his uncle Jang Song Thaek, who was the main connection between North Korea and China. Now China is nervous as to what North Korea is up to.

You often hear that Kim Jong Un is reckless, too young, and irresponsible, as I did but I am looking at the whole situation differently now that Dennis Rodman is best friends with Kim Jong Un. Denis Rodman may be a weirdo but he is an American weirdo that agree or not is not stupid. I am now thinking that Kim Jong Un is breaking its close ties with China.

North Korea we know has always been a weak spot for China and has always kept us and Democracy away from China's doorstep. It keeps being said that China is sick of North Korea's antics but I believe it is also North Korea who is fed up With China trying to lord over all the China seas and with an iron fist if necessary.

*China is stacking the deck against itself:

*North Korea: Execution breaks key link with China:  The execution of Kim Jon Un's uncle, Jang Song Thaek, likely has Chinese officials dusting off contingency plans. Jang was a key supporter of China-backed reforms aimed at reviving North Korea's economy.

At the same time, China is likely dusting off its contingency plans for instability or even a regime collapse that could see thousands of refugees swarming across its borders, put the North's nuclear facilities at risk, and prompt action by the U.S. and South Korean militaries, Yuan said.

*Japan to bolster military to counter China   The planned 2.6 percent increase over five years, announced on Tuesday, reverses a decade of decline and marks the clearest sign since Prime Minister Shinzo Abe took office a year ago that he wants a bigger military role for Japan as tension flares with Asia's other big power over islands both claim.  "China is attempting to change the status quo by force in the skies and seas of the East China Sea and South China Sea and other areas, based on its own assertions, which are incompatible with the established international order," Japan said in its first national security strategy, one of three plans approved on Tuesday.

*Dennis Rodman holds basketball trials for allstar match in North Korea: On Friday, he stressed that he hopes the game will be friendly, without political or nationalistic overtones.

He said the former NBA players will take on the North Koreans in the first half, but the teams will be mixed for the second half."It's not about win or loss. It's about one thing - unite two countries," Rodman said.

Rodman leaves N. Korea without word if he met leader

Beijing's assertion of sovereignty over a vast stretch of the South China Sea has set it directly against Vietnam and the Philippines - the two countries Kerry is visiting - while Brunei, Taiwan and Malaysia also lay claim to other parts of the sea, making it one of Asia's biggest potential trouble spots.
